Welcome to the Washington, DC Chapter of 85 Broads!

The members of the Washington, DC Chapter are excited to be a part of the 85 Broads network of more than 30,000 trailblazing, visionary women from all parts of the globe that aspire to affect business, public policy, education and successful economic development and progress. Understanding that women are a powerful force in the global economy, our Chapter theme is “The Power of Women in the World Economy.”

Here in the Washington area, 85 Broads boasts a membership of diverse women who work in finance, business, academia, government, media, and a wide range of other industries and professions. We are proud of our presence on many of Metropolitan area’s university and college campuses. With the energy in Washington, we see an important opportunity for us to grow awareness and enthusiasm about our organization and to highlight the tools, networks and support that we can collectively provide for women and women’s initiatives around the globe.

As a member of the network, we invite you to be a part of the success of 85 Broads by participating in events and also sharing your ideas and interests with us. We are creating new opportunities for our members such as a Speakers Bureau listing of Washington, DC Chapter women interested in appearing on panels and discussion forums; discussions of Women and the Career Ladder, Women as Entrepreneurs as well as women’s impact on the global economy. Through a new Chapter Volunteerism initiative, we look to partner with organizations that share our mission of empowering women by providing volunteer opportunities that engage our members in efforts that support women around the globe. University Women aims to connect 85 Broads’s chapters at local colleges and universities and student members.
