AHAlife: Reinventing The Online Shopping Experience

October 27 2010

AHA: The universal sound of discovery.
Life: Be inspired every day.

AHAlife is the online discovery destination where you can learn about—and purchase—the best unique products from around the world, collectively curated by our group of influential tastemakers. I was inspired to start the site when I was the CEO of Casall and living in Stockholm. Stockholm is an amazing city, but I found that I couldn’t access all of the amazing products that I wanted to buy. That’s when the light bulb went on. Why couldn’t there be one trusted destination where you could not just educate yourself about a…

Keeping it Simple on the Web is Easier Said Than Done

August 13 2010

Twitter is a great example of simplicity. A straightforward concept with a clean user interface. It may almost be too simple because I don’t fully “get it” sometimes. That could be that I’m still searching for my purpose on Twitter. As you might guess I have a hard time keeping anything beyond a URL under 140 characters.

On the flip side, Facebook is a growing example of the ultimate end-all be-all social network experience, packed with functionality–plenty of buttons to click and things to do. Thus, the dilemma when embarking on a social network concept. Aim for simplicity, or mash Faceb…

Get Outside of Your Fear of Blogging - Think. Write. Connect with Kevin O’Keefe

July 6 2010

I was drawn to this particular 85 Broads Jam Session as a neophyte to blogging. I decided that 2010 would be the year that I would dibble dabble into social media and use blogging as a way to share my passion about my signature interests (i.e. project management, wine, MBA). Enter Kevin O’Keefe, blogger extraordinaire and a guy who ROCKS. The one hour that I invested in listening to his Jam Session on bloggin…

“In the realm of social media, there are two kinds of people: women and men.” ~ Tom Peters

I recently had the pleasure of attending a talk with best selling author and leadership visionary Tom Peters, best known for his book In Search of Excellence. Why Every Company Should Be A Rockband

April 14 2010

It’s more than 2 years since I first started thinking about rockbands in relation to companies. It started out with a simple blogpost on my company blog entitled: Toothless Tiger is not a business anymore – it’s a rockband

I am a person who has always had a childhood dream of playing in a band. The attention, the stardom but mostly the creativity (I know I might have a very glorified views on rockbands – but hear me out). I have always been craving creativity and freedom. My deceased…
