Breaking Chains to Build New Links: Networking in the "Old Boys Club" of Law!

October 17 2011

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Ms JD last Tuesday to answer their question: how do we network as women in what often feels like the old boys network of law?

Or, as I restated the question:

"How do you network when all of the decision makers are old enough to be your father?  And how do you do so successfully without one of three potential scenarios from him: the protective-father like figure or the overly cautious, too afraid to say anything because he might unwittingly cross a boundary line,  or, worse, the lecherous situation."

My answers: It's a networking minefield....but you need to dive right in.
