Good Morning, Warsaw

Marlena Ruth Hubley
August 16 2010

We have arrived in Warsaw, the last leg of our trip! Though my long-time boyfriend and I may pop over for a day in Gdynia or Gdansk, it will be five nights at the Rialto and then a flight home. Travel Update

Marlena Ruth Hubley
July 18 2010

I am writing from The Two Marys in Cesky Krumlov, a restaurant serving 15th century Bohemian food, like millet, pheasant, and amazing potato pancakes. My leg is still on the road to recovery, or sitting by the side of the road, rather. Near Mount St-Michael folks are Bretons and my inn keeper and local pub owner were British. We then traveled directly east to Alsace, where the food and architecture feels very German. Had a lovely dinner last...

In Paris

Marlena Ruth Hubley
June 10 2010

I have just started my 70 day backpacking trip through Europe. I am in Paris at present and am enjoying it immensely. I have been blown away by the food, art, architecture, and hospitality. I wish I had scheduled myself to stay in Paris longer. Thanks to all 85 Broads members who gave me such wonderful recommendations! Any more suggestions for Strasbourg, Nuremberg, and Munich? Email me at mhubley@85broads.com!

On this day I recall a quote from More Than 85 Broads in the Adventurer's Chapter:

"Adventure by its very nature involves risk. It's supposed to be hard. It's supposed to be uncertain. It's supposed to be daunting and sometimes overwhelming. But it's also supposed to be exciting. To be exhilarating. And ultimately to be self-defining."

Today 85 Broads member Alison Levine certainly accomplished a feat that perfectly captures this description of adventure.
