Cynthia's Story
June 23 2008
Cindy Cornell, a coach and consultant, is a highly motivated business executive recognized for her results orientation. After the birth of her son in 2006, she left a successful career in business to pursue coaching and consulting full time, helping others to reach their potential in their lives and business ventures.
Sharing experiences with other successful people inspires her to stretch and to reach her own potential. Cindy is looking forward to developing mutually beneficial and supportive relationships with other 85 Broads members. She values networking and recognizes that it is a two way street - as much or more about what you give as what you get.
She holds the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF) and is also certified by Results Coaching Systems (an ICF accredited coach training program) and New York University, where she is currently an adjunct faculty member in their coach certificate program.
She is a proven leader and team builder who excels in fast paced, dynamic environments and has strong interpersonal and management skills. In addition to coaching, Cindy’s areas of expertise include leadership development, finance and business management, sales and marketing management, facilitation and training.
Her professional focus before becoming a coach was in corporate finance, operations and most recently, sales. She has worked in start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures, Fortune 50 companies, turnarounds and restructurings. Her resume includes Deloitte & Touche, PepsiCo, Xerox, Modem Media (a Digitas Company) and Diageo plc. Her empathy, perspective and ability to draw from her diverse business and personal experiences have positioned her to be a valued “utility player”, having had internal consulting project roles within several of these companies. Business has taken her around the world including Asia, Europe and the Caribbean and this cross cultural experience and has afforded her the ability to skillfully consider different points of view. Cindy finds this skill an asset both when dealing with cross functional teams in business and in coaching relationships.
As a coach, she works with her clients to develop meaningful, measurable, stretch goals that are aligned with both corporate and team objectives. Cindy believes strongly that her clients already have the answers and that her role is to facilitate their clear articulation and to help identify the path towards goal attainment. Ongoing coaching conversations measure progress and help to ensure sustainable change through focus on milestones and desired behaviors. She has coached executives, individuals and teams and also enjoys mentoring new coaches.
Cindy holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University and a MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
