Marla Hamburg Kennedy is a leading dealer, consultant, advisor and major collector of 20th and 21st century art with an emphasis on contemporary painting and photography. With 30 years experience in the fields of fine art, photography, contemporary art and publishing, Ms Hamburg Kennedy was previously the Director of the Howard Greenberg Gallery, Vice President of the art e-commerce site Onview.com, and managing Partner of Kennedy Boesky Photographs until starting Hamburg Kennedy Photographs in 2004. Maintaining a broad inventory of vintage and contemporary work with particular emphasis on post war and contemporary photography and art, Hamburg Kennedy Photographs advises private collectors, museums and corporations, with a special emphasis on building collections over a long-term basis.
Ms Hamburg Kennedy has built important photography and art collections for such companies as Litton Industries ( Los Angeles), Bain and Company ( New York/ Los Angeles), Artisan Entertainment ( New York/ Los Angeles) among dozens of others, as well as for numerous private individuals. Ms Hamburg Kennedy was instrumental in assembling one of the last museum shows of Andy Warhol (Museo di Capodimonte, Naples, Italy) and organizing one of his last serigraph editions, Vesuvius, with the artist
After earning degrees in Art History from Columbia University and completing graduate studies in photographic history at New York University, Ms Hamburg Kennedy has organized scores of contemporary art and photographic exhibitions (including one of the world’s largest photographic exhibitions of images of Marilyn Monroe) in New York, Japan, and Los Angeles. She has published and authored photography books, several with accompanying traveling exhibitions, which include: The Kiss: Photographic Images (Greystone 1993); The Nude/Nobuyoshi Araki (H20 Company, 1993); Wedding Days (H20 1994); Little Angels (DAP, 1996); Little Devils (DAP 1996); I Do (DAP 1997); Car Culture (Gibbs Smith, 1997); International Festival of Fashion Photography I (H20 Japan, 1999); Fashion Photography II (H20, 2001); and Twin Towers: An Elegy (Picture This Pub, 2002). Her recent book, edited with Ben Stiller, Looking at Los Angeles (Metropolis Books/DAP 2005) won much acclaim including being nominated #1 best art book on Amazon.com. Her latest book on contemporary photographic visions of New York City by some of the world’s most important contemporary artists, New York: A Photographer’s Ciy" (Rizzoli/Spring2011).
She is currently working on books on a variety of topics such as contemporary Iranian photography, the photographer Bill Owens, and the subject of lipstick to name a few.
In recent years Marla has curated a large show from her personal collection Fashion Photography from the 20th Century at the Shinsegae Department Store in Seoul South Korea. Marla is now curating a large show in Korea on the nude in photography.

Marla is a longstanding member of the National Arts Club, and she is a passionate contributor to various philanthropic campaigns and donates at least 10% of profits to causes that are important and endearing to her.
