In an effort build this awareness and create sustained change at an institutional level, the Nest Foundation is launching a campaign called 13. While thirteen is the average age at which a child is forced into the sex trade, it is also the age at which everything is possible. We envision a campaign that galvanizes every resource to protect that possibility and that creates spaces in which survivors can thrive.

The first phase of 13 comprised the making of a feature-length documentary, PLAYGROUND (click here to view the trailer.) The film has already made a tremendous impact in communities and legislative offices around the country and we now want that to expand and deepen that impact.

As part of phase 2, 13 is preparing to strategically distribute the film in 13 key cities. With partners in law enforcement, social work, public health, education and government already on our side, we are positioned to initiate wide attention and action in these cities and beyond.

The Nest Foundation has launched a Kickstarter Campaign to fund the completion of a documentary about the sex trafficking of minors in North America.

Executive produced by Abigail Disney, George Clooney, Grant Heslov, and Steven Soderbergh, and punctuated with poignant animation by Japanese pop artist Yoshitomo Nara, PLAYGROUND: The Child Sex Trade in America, illuminates a sinister industry of unrecognized pervasiveness. Through this film, director Libby Spears has crafted a comprehensive revelation of an unknown epidemic, essential viewing for any parent or engaged citizen.
