- Willy Wonka is alive and well and living in NYC; did a bnei’mitzvah for twins at The Oldest Working Chocolate Factory in NYC: who knew there was one? and right under my nose too in Soho (we’re based in Tribeca)

great big dance party — over 100 kids, 50 adults – and as an aside – 13 year old girls wear the BEST SHOES

- Ipods taking the place of DJ’s ?— at least for teenagers that seems to be the case; last few Sweet 16’s have all said ‘NO’ to hiring a DJ — want to design their own playlist and/or use their friends’ — so now it’s bring your own ipod — and we’ll provide the GLAM make-up (the return of ART ROCK?)

- and my favorite news of all:
did a 50th birthday at one of the hippest ‘secret hideouts’ in Chelsea: NYC’s best cover band, an electric violinist (trending for sure-everyone wants one),and a POLE DANCER

AND

the piece de resistance??? pole dancing by the birthday girl — what more can we want ? Just goes to show that WOMEN at 50 are VIBRANT, SEXY, INDEPENDENT, POWERFUL (do you know how strong you have to be to get up that pole) and VERY MUCH ALIVE — watch OUT!!)

Marla Mase has produced over 2500 events/parties since founding PARTYpoopers.com in 1991. She is a writer, performer, producer, poet and rocker – [marlamase.com]. She holds an MA from NYU in writing/performance, released two albums in the past 18 months, has written a few plays, a rock opera and will be touring her SPEAK show in the FALL. She is backed by the Tomás Doncker Band. Most importantly, she is the mother to two beautiful souls.

It’s her love for theatre that has made her company PARTYpoopers.com one of the premier children’s party companies in NYC and it is what gives partySWANK.com parties their dramatic flair/edge. A party needs to be dramatic, not necessarily in a “big” way, it can be subtle — there is an energy to a party, a story to an event and we try and tell it or let it unfold. “The parties I do are not about me, it is about the client’s vision and the event itself, each with its own heart, mind, and individual flavor. Of course, that means, they can never be replicated.”
